Vintage Car & Sports Car
The weather finally held out for us for Conner's senior portrait session. After two consecutive weather cancellations, we were finally able to get his session in and boy, was the wait worth it! I truly don't believe I could have had more fun with a senior session.
We began the session with some photos with his Gramps's Vintage 1932 Coupe. And all I can say is "Wow!" Not only was the car cool, but this kid's smile......just wow! You could see his love for the vehicle.
After returning the Coupe to it's home in Gramps's garage, he pulled out the Slingshot. Not only had I never ridden in one, I had never even seen one. So when his family suggested we do photos on the road, I thought okay, I'll walk down to the road and let's get started. What was I thinking? Of course we wouldn't take photos on their gravel road; no, we would need to go further down the road, which would mean I would need a ride.
I'll be honest, motorcycles, sports cars, etc. all make me a tad bit nervous; put a seventeen-year-old behind the wheel and my anxiety may have risen a bit, but there was absolutely no need to be worried. Not only did he prove that he knew exactly what he was doing, but he also squashed any fear I had of the vehicle in one fell swoop. Thanks Conner for changing my mind.
Once we returned to his grandparents's house, his mom left and his little sister stayed to watch. We continued the session on their property in Friendship, what a gorgeous area.
What amazed me the most though was seeing the relationship between the two siblings. I would try to get a serious photo and he would bust out laughing because his sister was doing everything she could behind me to mess with him. And where most older brothers would have gotten irritated, he didn't. He laughed and did it again.
It has been roughly four years since the last time I had seen Conner and his family, but we sure were able to pick up right where we had left off. Thank you Conner and family for trusting me to capture your senior portraits.
Good luck in your senior year, Conner and the Adams-Friendship Class of 2021.
